IU Goshen Hospital Operating Room

PEDCO provided engineering design services for a 1,500 SF existing Operation Room (OR) remodel which included a new imaging system, control room, surgical area, and system equipment room.  Power distribution upgrades included a UPS system for uninterruptable power for the sensitive imaging equipment.  The cooling upgrades provided additional capacity for the large amount of medical equipment in the new OR suite.

The medical equipment involved included: radiation shields on boom, 56” flat screen imaging monitor on boom, 3 smaller monitors on boom, cardiac mapping system, Siemens Artis Zeego (multi-axis robotic 3D imaging system and device guidance), LED surgical lighting on boom, and Mac-Lab hemodynamic recording system.  Because of the vast amount of equipment that was going into the new OR suite, PEDCO had to work closely with the hospital to coordinate the installation and integration of the equipment.

Cancer Care Partners New Facility

Goshen Health Systems had a goal to be the first to market with the latest and most refined types of cancer care available.  Therefore, this project had an extremely challenging design and construction schedule.  The project duration from initial design kick-off meetings to the first day of seeing patients was 10 months.  PEDCO, specifically requested by Goshen to be involved on this project, accomplished this accelerated timeline by working closely with the client staff and construction team and issuing multiple phase construction packages.

The design included a 40,000 SF renovation and a 24,000 SF addition.  The renovation houses an outpatient facility including 26 various types of exam rooms, an x-ray suite, and an infusion suite housing 17 stations and 2 private rooms.  The inpatient addition houses 7 patient beds, 2 procedure rooms, emergency stabilization room, PET/CT, High Dose Radiation (HDR) Room, Tomotherapy, Linear Accelerator, and a CT Scanner.

CCHMC Liberty Township Expansion

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) needed to expand it’s existing 230,000 SF Liberty Township Hospital facility.  The expansion converted what was an outpatient facility completed in 2008 to an inpatient facility to serve the expanding communities north of Cincinnati.  The bed unit expansion houses 40 new patient rooms on the fourth floor above the existing Third Floor clinics, along with a four-story infill section of the building that houses a production kitchen and shell spaces for future MRI, clinic and office space.  The café area was expanded to accommodate a larger cafeteria, servery, and finishing kitchen.  The project also included relocation of the medical gas room and pharmacy, and addition of a blood bank room adjacent to the facility’s laboratory that PEDCO originally designed.
