PEDCO Engineer Recipient of 2015 40 Under 40 Award

MoorisPEDCO Engineer Recipient of 2015 “40 Under 40” Award

PEDCO E & A Services, Inc. (www.pedcoea.com), a full-service engineering and architecture design firm announced James Morris, an Electrical Engineer, is featured as a “40 Under 40” leader for Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine, a leading magazine for commercial and industrial engineers.

Candidates were judged based on nine areas including their commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement.

Morris, 29, is a well experienced Electrical Engineer having worked on a variety of projects throughout his four co-op terms plus five year career at PEDCO.  His projects range from hospitals, office buildings, industrial facilities, and laboratories, to recreation centers, standalone retail, and mall type retail.  As a co-op at PEDCO, James had the opportunity to work on the 230,000 SF Cincinnati Children’s Hospital new outpatient facility.  He progressed quickly over his 5-year tenure to where he is now the Lead Electrical Engineer on a variety of large scale, high profile projects including USAA new Call Center, University of Cincinnati’s Men’s Locker Room Renovation, and Fidelity Investment’s Office Building in Denver.

Morris is just as active “off the field”.  He is busy volunteering in the community – at the Freestore Foodbank, Cincinnati Drop Inn Center (homeless shelter), or at his church where he is an audio volunteer for weekend services, weddings, and special events. In addition, James recently participated in a mission trip to Soweto, South Africa and completed his first marathon at the 2015 Flying Pig Marathon. When not working, volunteering, traveling, or running, you can find Morris playing drums in a band and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.

This award is given to 40 building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in all aspects of their lives, particularly in the nonresidential building community. “These diverse young professionals are dedicated to the building profession,” said Amara Rozgus, Editor-in-Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer. “Now in its eighth year, the program has increased in the number of nominees, and each winner truly stands out both professionally and personally.”  To read a profile of each winner, visit www.csemag.com/40under40. Winners will be presented with their award at a ceremony in Chicago in September.
